[AU] ... from the 'meet at a different time' meme
After two years at the Agency, Annie's job hadn't gotten any better (or worse). Sure, it had it's downsides - namely, being shot at (or being shot), but the biggest one had to be the Agency parking lot.
She could never, ever find a parking spot.
Of course, the morning that she'd gotten up early and proceeded to spill coffee on her first outfit, had to jump start her car and then fill a tire with air? She managed to get behind the chatty son-of-a-bitch in the compensation car at the guard shack. She sat there, plotting the ways to key his car without actually getting caught and then he'd moved on.
Smiling at the guys in the shack, she showed her ID, waited until they'd looked under her cars with mirrors, and then picked up the pace on the way to the agent parking lot.
It just wasn't her morning.
The short cut she took through the visitor lot took her right past the spots in front for all the diplomats and the Agency hotshots. She didn't see Mr. Compensation trying to adjust his parking until she'd plowed into his rear bumper.

Clay put his arms around her waist and pulled Annie closer to kiss her again before pulling back, "We should lock up, go to bed."

While Annie was locking up he finished getting undressed, except for his shorts. Being completely naked in her bed was odd for him.

"I like the way you look like that."
no subject
He couldn't help the way he looked her over from the doorway.

She finished undressing near her closet, glancing over at him as she undid the zipper on her skirt and hung it up before turning back to him and undoing her bra. That she left in the hamper and then she went around the bottom of the bed and slid in next to him.
Giving him a bashful smile, she said, "I figured a nightshirt might get in the way."
no subject
"You're probably right," he said before kissing her again.

Pulling him over her, she wrapped her leg around his and ran her hand down his side. All in all, it had been a very good night.
no subject
Though at this point that seemed silly.

"You didn't want to assume--?" She trailed off and gave their bodies a deliberate look before catching his eye again, leaning over to give him a very slow, very deep kiss. "I want you to assume. Assume everything."
Reaching down, she took his hand and placed it on her backside as she arched her body into his and kissed him again, her own hand sliding up the front of his shorts and then into them. "If you don't? I'll be so disappointed."
no subject
"Then I'll make sure to assume."

As far as she was concerned, he hadn't gotten lucky so much as unlucky. After all, she'd hit his car rather hard that day and there had been six months where she'd caused him stress in regards to his op. For now, though, she was done talking.

He planned on not talking for the foreseeable future as well.
no subject
"Hmmm." It came out a pleased hum.

Her own smile was audible, too.

Then she leaned up to kiss him properly.

"Me, too," she murmured, lost in thought. "Night, Clay."

Clay noticed Annie's brief emotional moment, and decided against asking what she was thinking. One thing he'd learned over the years was, if someone wanted to tell him something they would, when they were ready.
He put his arm around her once he felt she was comfortable, and eventually went to sleep.
